Letter: State Senator Just What Congress Needs

To the editor:

Throughout last year’s legislative session in Indianapolis, I was afforded the opportunity to get to know and work with a rising star in the Republican Party — State Sen. Erin Houchin.

Erin quickly impressed me and my colleagues with her energy, enthusiasm and dedication to the residents of southern Indiana. She immediately dove into her role in the General Assembly to get things done for her constituents.

Freshman legislators often take time to get going, but not only did Erin introduce bills in her first session, she succeeded in getting legislation passed and signed by the governor.

Erin successfully authored legislation to give law enforcement officers vital tools to prosecute individuals and businesses engaged in human sexual exploitation and prostitution. She was also named “Legislator of the Year” by the Indiana Broadband and Technology Association for her efforts to increase broadband accessibility to communities throughout Indiana.

It has been my pleasure getting to know Erin in the General Assembly, and while I will miss her if elected to Congress, I am certain she is exactly the person we need representing the 9th District in Washington. It’s time conservative principles started winning again, and we need a fighter for that to happen.

Erin is a proven fighter, and a proven winner. Please join me in supporting Erin Houchin for Congress in the Republican primary this May.
